In Week One of the school term, our students in Years 3-6 had the opportunity to attend The Great Aussie Bush Camp alongside their peers from Peats Ridge and Somersby Public Schools. This enriching experience allowed our young learners to connect with nature and each other while participating in a variety of exciting activities designed to foster teamwork, resilience, and self-confidence. The camp featured an impressive lineup of activities that challenged and engaged our students. Among the highlights were the giant swing, high ropes and rock climbing, where students faced their fears and celebrated their achievements together. They also delved into bushcraft and orienteering, learning valuable survival skills and navigation techniques that encouraged them to work collaboratively. In addition to these challenges, students enjoyed fun and engaging activities like frisbee golf and pioneering, which allowed them to express their creativity and strategic thinking. The thrill of archery provided a unique way for them to develop focus and precision, while the nighttime commando experience added a sense of adventure and excitement as they navigated through the dark, honing their teamwork skills in a fun, imaginative way. Beyond the activities, the camp served as a vital platform for building friendships among students from different schools, fostering a sense of community that will extend beyond the camp experience. We are incredibly proud of our students’ enthusiasm and determination throughout the camp.
