Around June 13, 2026, vandals tore through Neill Park in Kulnura, driving a vehicle across the grass and leaving deep scars on the field. The park sits near Greta Road and George Downes Drive — a much-needed spot for locals to relax or play cricket.

This isn’t just any piece of land. The Neill family, who once farmed here, gifted part of their property to the community. Mr Neill, who loved cricket, wanted people to have a place to gather and play. He gave up land he could have kept for himself just so others could enjoy it.
It’s hard to understand what goes through the minds of people who’d trash a place that means so much to everyone else. Neill Park exists because someone cared. Now it’s been damaged by people who clearly don’t.
