September and October meetings

I am thrilled to show you all the striking logo that we have chosen to be a symbol of our community group.

We thought that the Waratah is a fitting representation as our registered office is the Mangrove Mountain Hall which is situated on Waratah Street. It is also a reference to the Waratah Balls that were held in the hall in the ’60s and ’70s. We are blessed to have Waratahs growing in the Mountain Districts area and our logo is also a reflection of the natural environment we aim to protect.

We would like to sincerely thank Emma French who is the graphic artist that designed this logo.

Our committee meetings were held on Thursday, 4th September and Thursday, 2nd October.

Our discussion included:
– Positive news regarding the upgrade of the toilets on Waratah Road
– The state of our roads including maintenance of verges and stormwater drains; overhanging trees and speed limits
– Exciting plans for next year’s Harvest Festival
– A new advisory committee is being set up by Council to monitor the Mangrove Mountain water catchment. Two committee members have applied to the expressions of interest for one of the five public representatives.
– Planning for the upcoming Country Fair

You are all very welcome to come along to our meetings and help grow this group into the dynamic representation of our area.

Our next meeting is on Thursday, 6th November at 7.30pm in the Mangrove Mountain Hall. Looking forward to seeing you there.
