What a fantastic year for scarecrows in the Valley! Thirty-seven scarecrows appeared across Yarramalong Valley this year, bringing plenty of creativity, humour and imagination to roadsides, paddocks and front gates throughout the community.
Our new Scarecrow Trail proved a huge success, helping people get out and explore the Valley and discover the entries for themselves. More than 3,000 people visited the competition website over the two weeks, and over 900 votes were cast for the People’s Choice Award.
A huge thank you to everyone who built a scarecrow, followed the trail, cast a vote or simply came along to enjoy the fun. It was wonderful to see so many people getting involved and helping make this year’s competition such a success.
And now, we’re delighted to announce the 2026 winners in each category:
Topical Winner: The Last Straw Scout Camp – “Just another perfectly normal day at Last Straw Scout Camp!”
Traditional Winner: Rapunzel – “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hay…”
Humorous Winner: Ma & Pa Kettlecrow’s Country Retreat – “Where Ma does the work, Pa does the watching, and the crows take their chances!”
