General Meeting held at the Mangrove Mountain Hall on 6th August.
Twelve of us met this month including two visitors and two new members. We discussed many things including the success of our monthly markets.
- The August markets were fabulous… with 63 stalls and about 2,000 attendees. What a wonderful way to celebrate our area! Helpers are always needed to help set up; pack up and with parking
- Our group sent a submission in response to Council’s Local Strategic Planning Statement. We hope you did as well.
- We thank the Country Fair committee for installing a defibrillator at the Waratah Street entrance to the hall. Many of us attended the education day where we refreshed our CPR training and learnt how to use the defib. Thanks also to the CWA for the delicious morning tea and your help in fundraising.
- Planning for our BIG 100-year Hall birthday next April is progressing. Please send us your memories and photos across the decades. You can drop them off in the letterbox in front of the hall or email to mmmdcg.inc@gmail.com
- Many of us are concerned that civil engineering businesses are buying properties and changing the rural and agricultural nature of our area. Council’s Strategic Plan says that this area should remain rural. We need to protect our water catchment and natural environment.
We hope that you will join us at our next general meeting which will be held on Thursday, 3rd September at 7pm at the Mangrove Mountain Hall
