Fairview Homestead at Mangrove Creek

Fairview is a heritage-listed homestead at Mangrove Creek. Built over 100 years ago, it is a historically significant landmark and needs to be protected and preserved.

The Fairview Homestead Association recently organised a car excursion to Fairview, stopping at historically significant sites along the way, including the site of “Williams Farm” on J.J. Peacock’s 80 acres, James Everingham’s “Red House Farm” and St. Thomas’ Cemetery.

It was a fabulous day, with many stories shared about Dubbo Gully’s aboriginal and settler history. In the group we had several descendants of Alfred and Amanda Andrews, the original builders of Fairview, an expert in the restoration of heritage listed buildings, an archaeology student, and local community members. All agreed that Fairview and the history of Mangrove Creek need to be preserved and shared.

To find out more, come and see us at the Mangrove Mountain Market on Sunday, 1 December.

We plan to run further small-group excursions for members in 2025. If you would like to join a future trip to Fairview and learn more about the unique history of Mangrove Creek, join the Fairview Homestead Association. Find out more at www.fairviewhomestead.com.au
