Rebecca Ashcroft has been interested in and practicing weaving from natural materials for many years and has learned different cultural styles. She will share a style of cordage making and dilly bag/basket weaving that is used in many cultures around the world.
This workshop follows the sold out workshop Rebecca ran on 14 March. We hope people who missed out last time will be able to make it and previous participants are welcome to return. There is talk of starting a weaving group.
Materials we will use include:
– banana plant fibres
– bullrush fibres
While younger children are welcome and could definitely learn the cordage making, the attention and capacity for basket weaving is more for 12+ years.
