Presents: Heather Miles at our August Meeting
“Wandering on the wild side – the Warrumbungles”
In this illustrated talk, Heather takes us deep into the Warrumbungles — through the mist of the Grand High Tops, into the shelter of the Sandstone Caves, and across the vast Pilliga scrub — exploring what makes this landscape so botanically remarkable, why it matters, and what it faces.
Drawing on her own photography and a deep affection for the place, the talk weaves together geology, First Nations custodianship, flora, fauna and fire into a portrait of a landscape that is still, against considerable odds, speaking. The question, as always, is whether we are listening.
