NAIDOC Week was held from 5 July to 12 July under the national theme 50 Years of Deadly; marking five decades of strength, culture, resilience and community.
The start was commemorated by a flag raising ceremony in front of the Council Administration Building.
Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said NAIDOC Week is an important opportunity for the community to recognise and show respect to our First Nations community.
