Our first General Meeting for 2026 was held on 12th February and was attended by ten members.
We were thrilled to have Neil Genge as a visitor. He represented the Mangrove Mountain Country Fair committee and came with great news! The Country Fair Committee has decided to install a defibrillator that will be accessible to the public. They have chosen to install it through the Community Defibrillator Project, and the aim is to install a series of defibrillators across our area over a period of time. The first one will be installed on the Waratah Road side of the Mangrove Mountain Hall. Stay tuned for further information.
Another good surprise was that Council has installed a new children’s rocker to replace the damaged play equipment at the playground next to the hall.
We also discussed amending the current constitution of this group and will hold a special meeting to do this after our upcoming Annual General Meeting.
Our Hall is being well used with monthly markets and regular music events as well as bookings for private functions.
There is still much to do to improve our area, and we are in constant contact with council regarding things like much needed new toilet facilities; truck movements; road speed limits and the new State development laws.
How do you think we can improve our unique area?
Please bring your ideas and join us at our next general meeting:-
Thursday, 5th March at 7.30pm at the Mangrove Mountain Hall
Followed by our AGM at 8.00pm
