Saturday 5th September at an early 8am start our U12Ds took on Wyong Emus in a 1 v 2 Grand Final at Pluim Park!! After 4 games this season the ledger stood at 1 win apiece and 2 x draws so it was always going to be a fantastic grand final…
It looked as though half the mountain made the trip down to Lisarow to cheer the kids on and it was fantastic to have their support! Wyong started the game very well and put pressure on our defence who held firm. Our kids started to work into the game and began to create some chances before Mason was able to score the first goal of the game a few minutes before half time. 1-0 at half time was not a comfortable lead and the team needed some calm, but encouraging words during the break. 2nd half started similarly to the first with Wyong applying pressure and making us work hard. Again our kids kept at it and were rewarded with a 2nd goal finished well by Barrett to send us 2-0 up. A late goal mouth scramble after a Wyong free kick nearly pulled one back for Wyong before the referee whistled full time.

W35B Semi-Final Effort
Our MDFC Over 35B ladies qualified for semi finals for the second consecutive season!! An amazing achievement for a team that only came together last year and has a number of ladies playing for the first time!!
On Friday 4th September, 8pm kickoff on Pluim Park 3, they took on the undefeated League Champions Avoca Sharks FC!
Earlier this season our girls came as close as anyone has all season, going down 3-2!!
But this was finals football, no second chances and despite a valiant effort they were unsuccessful.
