The meeting held on the 1st of November to discuss the establishment of a Men’s Shed on the Mountain was well attended.
The discussions covered the outcomes sought, establishment of premises, workshops, venues, equipment, formation of a committee, funding, types of activities, support for community members and the idea of extension to a Community Shed and the inclusion of women or not.
Further meetings will be held, the next at 6pm on 15/11/24 at the MMUC Hall.
The status of the MMUC was raised. The Mangrove Mountain Union Church is not in itself a religion, it is a property that is owned and managed by a Trust made up of community members. It is not owned by any particular religious group.
The Trust rents the buildings and grounds to users. The Church is shared by Christian denominations for the conduct of Services and the Hall used for various community activities.
