Central Coast Council is progressing a series of flood studies across the region, aimed at improving community safety, resilience and preparedness for flood events. Council is inviting residents to comment on several flood studies that are currently open or will be open for public exhibition.

Flood studies are essential for understanding how floods behave on the Central Coast.

Regular updated studies ensure future flood management plans reflect the latest data, changing land use, climate trends and community experiences. This helps Council develop practical, effective solutions to protect lives, property and the environment.

Central Coast Council Director of Environment and Planning, Luke Nicholls said it is important for Council to regularly review and update flood studies to protect our community.

Projects open or will be open for community engagement over the coming months:
– Tuggerah Lakes flood study
– Mangrove and Mooney Mooney flood study
– Gosford Overland flood Study
– Somersby and Kariong flood study
– Narara Creek floodplain risk management study and plan (FRMSP)
