There are many locations where swathes of vegetation under powerlines have died from what looks like the application of herbicide. Persons have been seen returning to marked vehicles from the areas that eventually died back. One person was questioned and advised that they were checking powerlines. It is not known if Council is aware of this issue or if there was any public notice given of herbicide application on public land. The photos show just some examples of the dead vegetation and the casual observer will see many more examples. This process will eliminate the need to prune vegetation away from powerlines but will leave a substantial fuel source come the heat of summer when everything dries out.
