Our group meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Mangrove Mountain Hall at 7.30pm. Seven of us met last Thursday night to discuss, plan and deliver good things for our Mountain Districts community.
As we are the administrators of our historic hall, we discussed the hiring of it as well as work that needs to be done. Our next working bee is on Saturday, 12th July, and we would love to see you there.
The hall now has smart, new guttering and downpipes including leaf guard. It’s a start to sprucing up the Hall for its upcoming centenary celebrations (2027). We’d like to thank the Country Fair committee for contributing to this.
We have applied for a Council grant to improve the fire safety of the hall including roof sprinklers, hoses, a pump and fire mesh under the building. We really hope that we are successful as the hall is a ‘safer place’ when it comes to natural disasters including bush fires.
We have registered our group with Central Coast Council and look forward to working with them across the many issues affecting our area.
Recently we have followed up the Council’s commitment to replace the toilets at Waratah Road with flushing toilets. We are grateful that Council has been emptying these toilets more frequently.
