Road Safety Strategy

We’re reaching out as your community group or organisation has an interest in roads, pathways and cycleways.

Central Coast Council is developing a Road Safety Strategy to guide how road safety decisions are made, prioritised and funded across the region.

This strategy will provide a clear and consistent framework for assessing requests, identifying priorities and directing investment to where it can deliver the greatest safety benefits for the community.

It will combine community feedback, stakeholder input, crash and statistical data and risk analysis to help identify priorities and support future funding applications.

We’re seeking community feedback to better understand local road safety concerns, lived experiences and priorities.

We want to hear about your experiences on our road and transport network, what helps you feel safe, the challenges you encounter, and what do you feel is a priority.

Whether you drive, walk, wheel, ride, catch public transport or move around in other ways, your experience helps build a fuller picture of road safety across the Coast.

Crash data tells us where crashes happen. Community feedback helps us understand how people feel and move through road and transport related networks every day.

Your feedback will help Council:

  • understand road safety experiences across the Central Coast
  • identify common issues, and priorities
  • balance community feedback with crash data, research and technical evidence
  • shape future road safety priorities and actions

This is strategic

The Road Safety Strategy will guide priorities and decisions. It won’t list individual road safety improvements at specific locations.
