A new chapter for the Central Coast’s literary community begins this September with the grand debut of Coastal Poets LIVE, a new monthly poetry residency launching at FunHaus Factory in Gosford.
Produced & hosted by local poet Robert Edmonds, Coastal Poets LIVE will bring together poets, spoken word artists and lovers of language for a regular monthly gathering celebrating creativity, connection and contemporary poetry.
Launching on Sunday 20 September, the inaugural event will feature acclaimed Filipino-born poet Ronald Araña Atilano, a multiple prize-winning writer whose work has appeared in Rabbit Poetry Journal, Island, Westerly and Cordite. Fresh from a Katherine Susannah Prichard Writers’ Centre residency in Perth, Atilano will share works from his celebrated bilingual collection New Ordinance for the Dead.
The series will provide opportunities for established and emerging writers alike to share their work, connect with audiences and participate in a supportive creative community.
Guests are encouraged to arrive from midday to enjoy lunch and happy hour specials before the poetry begins. Open mic registrations commence at 12.30pm, with the main event running from 1pm to 3pm.
