Emergency CB Radio Network Test Sessions
Thursday Dec 11th and a second on Tuesday Dec 16th. Between 6pm to 8pm on these days

The MEPCC Emergency CB Radio Network encompasses an area from Spencer and Mt. White in the south through to Wollombi and Paynes Crossing in the north and out to Somersby in the east.
At the recent AGM and team meeting, the MECPP discussed the need to freshen up on the use of the CB radio system and confirm which stations in the network are able to contact each other.
To do this there will be two system wide testing days, one on Thursday Dec 11th and a second on Tuesday Dec 16th. Between 6pm to 8pm on these days:

  • Turn your CB’s on and try to remain within earshot
  • Ensure that silent mode is turned off
  • Set your squelch to an appropriate level
  • During this time make several calls and if you hear a call respond. Make a note of who you can speak to, their call sign and location and also the quality of the communication.
  • Email a summary of your notes to [email protected]

The contact information will be collated and emailed to all participants so you will be able get a good idea of which CB stations you can reliably contact during an emergency.
Below is a map showing radio installations, however this is still being updated and not all locations are currently shown.
